Ulisse Biomed supports the fight against malaria
Recently, Bill Gates shared his plan to donate most of his wealth over the next 20 years to the Gates Foundation, with a significant focus on solving global health problems.
A key passage concerns malaria:
"I am optimistic that, by the time the foundation closes, we will be able to add malaria and measles to that list [list of eradicated infectious diseases, ed]. Malaria is particularly complex, but we have many new tools in the pipeline, including ways to reduce mosquito populations. This is probably the key tool that, once refined, approved and implemented, will give us the chance to eradicate malaria."
As shared in recent months and years, Ulysses Biomed, through its subsidiary Hyris, is at the forefront of the fight against malaria with innovative genetic solutions to monitor the mosquito population, in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University and the Gates Foundation.
A few days ago, scientific research was published in the journal Parasites & Vectors, confirming the value of the ongoing work.
Lorenzo Colombo, CTO of Hyris and the Ulisse Biomed Group, said: 'We are honoured to support the resolution of these global health challenges. Innovation and collaboration are key to achieving these goals, and Hyris is committed to playing its part."
