ULISSE BIOMED PARTICIPATES IN EUROGIN 2022

Ulisse BioMed participated in EUROGIN 2022 (European Research Organization on Genital Infection and Neoplasia), which was held in Düsseldorf from April 10 through 12.
This year’s program covered a diverse range of topics, including recent developments in HPV screening, prevention, and management of cervical cancer during the pandemic, underlying the relevance of self-collection, and the raising importance of human papillomavirus genotyping.
Ulisse BioMed presented its Sagitta HPV Selfy, the first HPV DNA test validated for primary cervical cancer screening even on self-collected samples, able to provide full genotyping of the 14 high-risk HPV types (the causal factor of cervical cancer), and HPV PRO, the first hub & spoke HPV diagnostic service for physicians.
The clinical assessment study of HPV Selfy performed by ASUGI (local health authority of Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy), CRO | Istituto Nazionale Tumori (national cancer research institution, Italy), University Campus Biomedico di Roma and University of Trieste has been presented at Eurogin presentation session. The study showed the results of the clinical validation of HPV Selfy for primary screening purposes, according to Meijer guidelines, and on self-collected samples, according to VALHUDES protocol. These results were strongly significant because the study showed that HPV Selfy is suitable for primary screening purposes even on self-collected samples allowing to implement innovative screening practices based on selfsampling, a practice aiming to increase the screening participation rate.

HPV Selfy was also mentioned as the only test validated for cervical cancer screening on self-collected samples able to provide full genotyping of the 14 high-risk HPV types.
EUROGIN is an international congress that is focused on sharing information on clinical research, epidemiological surveys and the latest screening methods for HPV infections detection and cervical cancer screening and prevention. EUROGIN Conference 2022 is the first large international in-person conference in the field of HPV-related diseases. This highly awaited event has been attended by over 1,500 delegates from all over the world, including gynecologists, biologists, epidemiologists, immunologists, pathologists, head & neck specialists, public health representatives and other professionals.
