Smart Gene Design
The 'Smart Gene Design' project focuses on innovating the research and development process in the field of molecular biology. In fact, this process is one of the most critical and essential for a company operating in the world of diagnostics, as being able to design effective products quickly is an essential element in reducing initial investment costs and enabling the company to equip itself with a rich portfolio of molecular tests quickly.
Aim of the project: The aim of the project is to develop, verify and validate an algorithm based on artificial intelligence and iterative calculation capable of automatically designing these diagnostic assays, providing the sequences of groups of oligonucleotides that respond to certain sets of parameters that can be preset by the researchers depending on the needs and the assay to be designed.
The project is divided into 3 phases:
- Creation of the database of parameters and experimental data.
- Algorithm development.
- Verification and validation.
EXPENDITURE ACCEPTED FOR CONTRIBUTION: € 297,470.80
AMOUNT GRANTED: € 133,861.86 - of which EU € 53,544.74
Expected results: The "Smart Gene Design" project can revolutionise the design process of diagnostic assays in its initial phases, thus facilitating the subsequent experimental verification phase and shortening the time and costs required to arrive at the finished product.
